#SoProud: 3 Indian-Origin Executives From US Made It To Forbes’ Richest Self-Made Women List
Much like every year, Forbes’ America’s Richest Self-Made Women list is out and guess what makes it a proud moment for our country? Three Indian-origin women are also a part of the top 80 list! The list this year has women from different walks of life, ageing from 21 to 92 with a minimum net worth of USD 225 million. Diane Hendricks, who chairs ABC Supply in America topped this list of overachievers. Read on to know about the 3 Indian women who made it!
1. Jayshree Ullal

Jayshree Ullal, the president and CEO of the computer networking firm Arista Networks, ranked 18th on the list of America’s richest self-made women. Ms Ullal has a net worth of USD 1.4 billion. The 58-year-old businesswoman owns about 5 per cent of Arista Networks’ stocks. As per Forbes records, “Arista settled a multi-year patent infringement battle with Cisco by agreeing to pay Cisco $400 million.” Cisco was Ms Ullal’s former employer. This multi-millionaire was born in London and brought up in India.
2. Neerja Sethi

Neerja Sethi is the co-founder of the IT consulting and outsourcing firm, Syntel. Ranked at number 23, Neerja co-founded Syntel with her husband, Bharat Desai in 1980. They began with an initial investment of USD 2000 in their apartment in Troy, Michigan. In October 2018, French IT firm Atos SE bought Syntel for USD 3.4 billion. The 64-year-old mother received about USD 510 million for her stake.
3. Neha Narkhede

Ranked at the 60th number on the list, Neha Narkhede is the CTO and co-founder of streaming data technology company, Confluent. Her net worth is USD 360 million and Confluent is currently valued at USD 2.5 billion.
The company was founded by her in 2014 along with two of her LinkedIn colleagues, to make tools using Apache Kafka which is an open-source stream-processing software platform. As an engineer at LinkedIn, the 34-year-old helped develop this job-search software.
Ms Narkhede has also been a part of Forbes’ The World’s Top 50 Women in Tech 2018 and America’s Top 50 Women in Tech 2018 list.
Who runs the world? Girls, indeed! These women won’t let anything hold them back and are constantly setting a fine example of a female-led empire for the coming generations.
