Wait, What? This Star Kid Turned Down The Archies!

Rock n’ roll, friends, love, rivalry and a lot of star kids; Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies has it all. While the Netflix project has a lot going for it, there is more to be discovered. Did you know there is someone who had the chance to be a part of the movie and yet they didn’t? It was— Rohit Roy’s daughter Kiara Bose Roy.  

Recently, Rohit opened up on his daughter’s take on the entertainment biz. The Apartment star revealed in an interview that Kiara was approached by The Archies team for a part in the film. He said, “Excel (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s production house) called me for The Archies. I told them that she is studying at the Brown University but I will check. I did tell her but she couldn’t give it a thought given the space she is in, where competition is intense. I have told her that once you finish your education and want to give it a thought, we would wholly support you.”

I love how Rohit didn’t influence his daughter’s decision to step into the film world. I love this father-daughter dynamic!

In 2021, Kiara left for America to study at Brown University. Since then she has been studying in a foreign land and it appears that she is quite thrilled with her decision.

Zoya’s The Archies is a coming-of-age story that is set in Riverdale, a fictional hill station. The film’s cast includes— Dot (Ethel Muggs), Agastya Nanda (Archie Andrews), Khushi Kapoor (Betty Cooper), Mihir Ahuja (Jughead Jones), Suhana Khan (Veronica Lodge), Vedang Raina (Reggie Mantle) and Yuvraj Menda (Dilton Doiley). Scroll down for The Archies’ trailer:

The release date of The Archies is yet to be decided but I am already excited. I hope Kiara also finds the chance to cheer the cast of The Archies.
