Never have I ever been this excited for a film. Greta Gerwig’s directorial Barbie is all set to hit the theatres on July 21st and movie-goers across the world are looking forward to this one. As much as the interesting subject matter, it is the film’s lead—Margot Robbie—who is driving the international frenzy. She has been serving killer promotional lewks and looks like the perfect human manifestation of the iconic Mattel doll. However, there’s one more actress who could have done it equally well. The best part? She is a desi girl!

Why, of course, I am talking about Deepika Padukone! If someone were to make an Indian version of the Barbie film, there won’t be a better person to play the titular role than DP. Here’s why:
