Full of wholesome emotions, a great storyline, and music to cherish for a lifetime, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s Shershaah was special in more ways than one. The movie manifested the ‘permanent booking’ of its reel-life couple. As the film completes two years, it’s safe to say that nobody could’ve done a better job than Kiara and Sidharth as Dimple Cheema and Vikram Batra. Not only were they convincing in the skin of their characters, but their acting and chemistry left a strong impression on our hearts. However, did y’all know Kiara Advani wasn’t the first choice for Shershaah?

According to a report in DNA, the role of Dimple Cheema was first offered to Alia Bhatt. While the Raazi actress never openly cleared the air about it, she allegedly rejected the Vishnuvardhan directorial due to her packed schedules and prior commitments to other films. The best part? While she couldn’t do this blockbuster, Alia was all praises for Sid and Kiara when the film was released. She had written a heartfelt note on her ‘Gram lauding the film’s team.

Honestly, we can’t imagine anyone else playing Dimple. But it would’ve been equally interesting to see Alia nailing the iconic character.

Despite sharing a past, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra have always followed the memo of being ‘friends with your ex’. During an interview in 2019, Alia spoke about how there has been no bad vibes between her and Sid ever since they called it quits. The Raazi actress shared, “I have a lot of love and respect for Sid. We started off together in the industry. I have known him for a long time and there’s too much history between us. Honestly, there will never be issues. I have nothing but just positivity in my heart for him. I’m sure he wishes the same as well. We have witnessed several milestones in our lives together. He spoke about meeting and chatting and we were fine. There are no bad vibes.”

While Shershaah will always belong to Kiara and Sid, the Bollywood buff in me can’t wait for Alia and Sid to do a film together and recreate the SOTY magic!
