Confidence is the key to happiness. And much like happiness, it is also a characteristic acquired with time and patience. You don’t just wake up one day with confidence flowing through your veins. It’s a state of mind you choose to be in, every day, no matter what goes wrong. Here are 11 things you can do to feel more confident in just 30 minutes or less!
1. Drink a glass of water slowly every morning
Wondering what drinking a glass of water has anything to do with your confidence level? Well, you’d be surprised how this little action every morning can boost your confidence. Here are two things it helps you achieve. First, all the fluid you’ve lost in the night is replenished, making your mind and body more effective. And second, it begins your day in a calm pace. A fast and rushed morning can actually adversely affect your day and mood.
2. Take a shower
There is nothing that will kickstart your day like a nice warm bath. It refreshes you both physically and mentally. Though this seems like an obvious one, it is also one of the most underrated habits in our day to day routine.
3. Dress up
Wearing the right clothes that not just look good but also compliment your personality and style. When you dress well, you perform better. Yes, simply because you look amazing, you will feel amazing about yourself too!
4. Read a few pages of your favourite book
Forget diamonds, books should be every woman’s best friend! Get a hold of your favourite book and simply browse through your favourite parts of it. It will help you be more creative and bring some positivity to your life.
5. Create S.M.A.R.T goals
Don’t set goals that you probably can’t achieve as it will only make you feel bad about yourself. Set goals that are ‘Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound’ or in other words SMART!
6. Work on your posture
Take at least ten minutes out every day to sit with your back absolutely straight. Standing tall and sitting upright automatically increase your confidence and also create a positive and impressive vibe around you when you are with other people!
7. Take a power nap
A good 15-minute nap usually straightens out most of your troubles and helps you feel re-energized. But make sure, it doesn’t end up lasting the whole afternoon. Keep it short and completely devoid of any distractions.
8. Do a crossword puzzle
Nothing to get your brain working like a good crossword puzzle. Remember that you have to make your brain exercise as much as your body. Monotony kills your creativity!
9. Eat the right meals
A poor diet will mean lack of serotonin, which in turn would mean an increase in depressive feelings. However, a healthy nutritious diet increases serotonin in our body, making you happy. And happiness and confidence are always directly proportional.
10. Do some quick breathing exercises
Breathe in. Breathe out. If you can control your breathing, you can control your life. Try the box breathing exercise – breathe in, hold, breathe out and hold, all for four seconds. Repeat this seven to ten times to feel calm and confident.
11. De-clutter!
This one’s a no-brainer; having a clean and clutter-free environment can actually help you feel better about yourself! Just clean your room before you begin doing anything productive.
