India Bids A Final Goodbye To Her First Female Superstar, Sridevi

The actress and superstar, Sridevi, bid a sad and sudden goodbye to the world on 24th February 2018. Ever since, the world has been mourning and trying to come to terms with the loss of a legend. Her body was brought in from Dubai late last night in Anil Ambani’s private chartered flight and today saw Bollywood gather at Mumbai’s Celebration Sports Club to pay their final respects to her memory. The funeral of the Padma Shri winning veteran actress was held at 3:30 pm today and her last rites were performed with state honours, as arranged by the Maharashtrian government – complete with a gun salute and her mortal remains wrapped in a tricoloured flag. 

Her family was present at the event where her mortal remains were kept for fans and friends to pay their respects and condolences. “On behalf of Khushi, Jahnvi, Boney Kapoor, the entire Kapoor and Ayyappan families, a sincere thanks to the media for your continued sensitivity and support during this emotional moment,” said a statement released by the Kapoor family earlier today.
