Yesterday, December 19, saw a massive turnout of people all over India protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, the National Register of Citizens and also the police brutality against students of Jamia Milia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University. People of all genders, caste, age, socio-economic groups, and religions turned up and showed that it is their Indian identity that unites them and their diversity only makes them stronger.
Many celebrities also took to the streets across the country to join hands with their fellow citizens. There was also overwhelming instances of humanity that we saw at the protests, and many of these incidents went viral.
