‘The Archies’ Makers Get Called Out For Lightening Suhana Khan’s Skin Tone In The Posters

The Archies trailer just dropped and people have a lot to say about it. While it is pretty interesting, people are confused with the film’s setting. Zoya Akhtar’s film is apparently set in the 60s and people are finding that hard to equate with the ultra-modern cast and their Western ways. The makers are also getting trolled for heavily editing the film’s posters and are miffed with how Suhana Khan’s skin tone has been completely changed in the process.

Many are commenting on how the soon-to-be debutante is blessed with a naturally gorgeous skin colour that the makers shouldn’t have lightened in The Archies posters and promos. People are also worried that the posters have been so heavily edited that the cast’s personalities are getting diluted and everyone is looking the exact same. Here, check out some of the comments:

If you compare Suhana’s Instagram posts with the film’s poster, you are sure to notice the difference too and it is indeed disappointing. What message are we trying to send here? The Archies boasts of a young and fresh star cast. The last thing the makers should be attempting here is selling old and outdated ideas of beauty. Here’s hoping that they soon realise the error of their ways and we do not see a lightened Suhana in the final cut!
