For the past few days, the only thing I’ve been seeing on my feed is The Tortured Poets Department album lore; that, and a few conspiracy theories about the whole Kim K vs. Taylor dilemma. I thought we’d resolved this fight in 2009, but Taylor’s ‘thanK you aIMee’ is about the Kardashian. I mean, it’s capitalised to spell out Kim’s name and we all know that North West loves ‘Shake It Off’.
But as I delved into the recent articles written about them, I realised something. Beyond their fleeting connections through mutual acquaintances, the two powerhouse women also share similar approaches to fitness and self-care. So here’s a round-up of everything they do to stay so spectacularly in shape
Dedication To Consistency
Both Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian treat their workout schedules with the commitment of professional athletes. Taylor’s routine involves rigorous gym sessions six days a week during her off-tour periods, with each session lasting up to two hours! The focus lies heavily on cardio and core exercises that are crucial for her performance stamina.
Similarly, Kim Kardashian follows a robust fitness regimen. She engages in intense training sessions five to six days a week, each lasting two hours, under the guidance of fitness coach Senada Greca. Her workouts are not just about maintaining fitness; they’re about transforming her body, focusing on muscle gain and overall strength.
Sprint To The Finish Line
While both celebrities emphasise strength training, they also incorporate significant cardio into their routines, particularly sprinting, to enhance endurance and performance. Swift has a unique approach to cardio; she runs on a treadmill while singing her concert setlist – a method that helps condition her voice and stamina simultaneously.
“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” she shared. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs,” said the star.
On the other hand, Kim Kardashian integrates sprinting into her workout routine to complement her strength training. She often shares moments from her sprint sessions on her socials, highlighting how these intense bursts of speed contribute to her fitness goals.
“Been sprinting every day!” she wrote on Instagram (as seen in Cosmo). “I’ve been seeing changes![It’s] hard to video and sprint 😂.”
Strength In Numbers
When it comes to strength training, Taylor and Kim both engage in rigorous sessions that intimidate even seasoned gym-goers. Taylor’s workouts at the Dogpound gym are “….really hard, some people would probably throw up or have to lay down on the floor if they trained like her,” says her trainer – Kirk Myers.
Swift’s workouts include a variety of strength and conditioning exercises, and similarly Kim’s routine features an array of challenging moves. Some of her favourites are the dreaded Romanian deadlift, hamstring curls and standing cable abductions. Both strategies are tailored to maintain their performance stamina and aesthetic goals.
Rest & Recovery
Despite their hardcore training schedules, both Taylor and Kim understand the importance of rest. Taylor’s “dead days” are all about recovery, spending time in bed to recuperate from the physical toll of back-to-back performances. Similarly, Kim occasionally takes breaks from her intense workout regime, allowing her body to recover and regain energy, which she claims makes her feel refreshed and eager to return to her fitness routine.
Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian might just be the epitome of how seemingly different individuals can share remarkably similar paths to success and well-being. Their dedication to fitness not only prepares them for the physical demands of their careers but also highlights a shared commitment to health and strength.
So, while the buzz may often revolve around their high-profile lives and unfortunate past connections, it’s their parallel approaches to wellness that may offer the most interesting insights into their worlds.
