Here’s The Real Reason Behind Taylor Swift & Joe Alwyn’s Break Up

“Who could ever leave me, darling? But who could stay?”

When Taylor Swift sang those lines, we all felt something. Her personal life has always inspired the singer’s music. Well, this is what makes her songs so beautiful, raw, and relatable. Taylor, who has always been infamous for having ‘lovers’, was finally in a stable relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. The two were together for six years, making it Taylor’s longest relationship. Her album, Lover, was entirely dedicated to Joe. However, as the saying goes, “Everything beautiful must come to an end,” Taylor and Joe have broken up!

When Joe was not seen at Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour, rumours of their breakup began to circulate. The confirmation of the rumours, however, astounded many because the couple was reported to be doing well just a few weeks ago. According to a mutual friend, Joe was supposed to visit Taylor on the Eras Tour, saying, “She has rehearsed for months and was ready. She is in amazing shape. She loves connecting with her fans again. Joe will travel with her when he can. They are great together. Joe is super supportive of her career.”

Turns out, the couple had already hit a rough patch before Taylor left for her tour, and hence, Joe wasn’t spotted at any of the shows. While fans are going crazy trying to figure out what went wrong between the two, the real reason for the breakup isn’t all that complicated. According to a reliable source, the reported split was not “dramatic,” but they broke up because the relationship had simply “run its course.” Another source also stated, “Taylor and Joe broke up a few weeks ago. They simply grew apart and plan to remain friends.”

Taylor Swift’s Songs About Joe Alwyn

Taylor has dedicated several songs to her former lover, Joe Alwyn, in addition to an entire album. Some of her songs from her 2017 album Reputation, such as Delicate, Call It What You Want, and Gorgeous, are said to be about the British actor. Joe has also worked with Taylor on many occasions and co-written a few songs with her, including Exile, Betty, Champagne Problems, and Sweet Nothings. He wrote those songs under the pen name William Bowery because the two had decided to keep their relationship private.

Well, as Taylor Swift once said, “Fearless is having the courage to say goodbye to someone who only hurts you, even if you can’t breathe without them.” Here’s wishing Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn a happy life ahead!
