Mainu Lehenga Dede #Monotone, Tara Sutaria: Bollywood Is All Over The Trend & We Get That!
Wedding season may come and go but our thirst for designer lehengas will never. And according to my dilating pupils, monotone lehengas are the new love of my life. Recently, Student Of The Year 2 actress Tara Sutaria walked the ramp for designer Sulakshana Monga in Mumbai and looked every bit an angel. In a beige embroidered tone-on-tone lehenga, Tara made me decide what outfit I’m going to wear if my best friend finally decides to get married this year. Hopefully, Coronavirus won’t try to steal my thunder, I mean my best friend’s thunder. Yikes!
Anyway, check out Tara’s pictures from the evening below:
Didn’t I say an angel?! In a one-shoulder ruffled blouse with a hand-embroidered lehenga skirt, Tara may have closed the show for Sulakshana Monga’s Spring-Summer 2020 Collection but she opened the window to my dream lehenga. She completed the look with a pair of diamond danglers, assorted bangles, and bracelets in one arm. Her minimal makeup was just what was needed to keep it simple but statement.
“There is a princess inside all of us. Our muse Tara Sutaria made it possible with her charm and grace,” said the designer speaking about the showstopper. Here’s a closer look at the gorgeous outfit:

Monotone is a new trend to hit Indian wear and looking all the more exciting with our traditional embroideries. It is subtle, sophisticated and smart enough to attract people who aren’t fans of blingy ethnic wear. But Tara’s not the first one to sport the look. Tone-on-tone already has quite an audience.
Remember Alia Bhatt’s bright yellow lehenga from one of the Ambani weddings? And there’s Priyanka Chopra’s red bridal lehenga, of course! It’s not just Sabyasachi who’s monotoning lehengas in India. Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre, Amit Aggarwal, and Masaba Gupta (to name a few) are revealing their own interpretations of tone-on-tone with embroidery. The result–ah-mazing! Have a look for yourself:
Convinced? So, the next time you go to get a lehenga stitched, just take this article to your masterji. There are enough references here for them to understand what you want and make you look like a Bollywood celebrity. Shine on, ladies!
