Sunil Grover Rejects Bharat Co-Star Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss: I Can’t Be Caged

Salman Khan’s Bharat released yesterday on the occasion of Eid and it has already crossed the Rs 50 crore mark. Salman fans are going gaga over the film and Katrina fans think Bharat is the best performance of her career yet. But that’s the point of view of the bhai bhakts. Twitter begs to differ.

Popular comedian Sunil Grover is one of the supporting actors in the film, whose character, Gauthi, is being appreciated by the audience. But here’s something that the bhai fans won’t appreciate about him.

Sunil Grover and Salman Khan go way back to the time when Bharat wasn’t even thought of. The comedy show Sunil has been a part of first as Guthi and now as Dr Gulati, The Kapil Sharma Show is produced by Salman. Given their relationship, we would expect him to support everything that Salman does, but there is a TV show that Sunil dismissed that hits home with Bhai. The show in question? Bigg Boss!

Bigg Boss Season 13 is in the news these days and the list of possible contestants is already doing rounds. When the topic of participating in the reality TV show came up during a recent interview, Sunil said:

“I wouldn’t like to be a part of Bigg Boss. I don’t know, never say never, but ya… I don’t know. I can’t be caged. I like to act, I like playing characters, I like to be a part of stories rather than fighting over food or petty things and winning the game. Oh, I can’t!”

When asked if he has ever been approached for the show, Sunil very smartly answered, Sab discrete hota hai na Bigg Boss mein? [laughs]. But I think there are people who enjoy it. I also watch the show. But I can’t be a part of it, I don’t have that patience.”

Before Bharat, Sunil Grover’s last Bollywood appearance was in Pataakha. Next for Sunil is either The Kapil Sharma Show, or return to TV with a new show.
