It’s been months and everyone, including us, is on their toes for the first trailer of Veere Di Wedding to launch. The day is finally here, and it goes without saying that we’re also excited about the glittering star cast’s on and off screen wardrobes. I mean, wouldn’t you, with a Sonam and Kareena starrer? Those two are always setting new sartorial bars. Whether it’s Sonam’s short but stylish stint in Dubai and Bebo’s showstopping, jaw-dropping moment at Manish Malhotra’s Singapore show.
Today, at the Veere Di Wedding trailer launch, it was no different. Kicking off with yummy mummy Kareena –
The Bollywood actress has never looked so good, has she? With months and months of post-Taimur boot camp there’s a hoard of designers dying to dress her. May I say, her navy blue bandeau bralette-pantsuit combination has me gasping for air and texting my trainer with an anguish. *sigh* I know you’re wondering why the pantsuit looks like it was made especially for her – that’s because it was, by designer Dhruv Kapoor. So far SO good.
Moving on to So-K –
What happened to you, Sonam? ‘You were doing amazing, sweetieee’. I can’t help but let my inner ‘Mean Girl’ out and come on, can you blame me? While Kareena looked like a sexy version of Lara Croft, Sonam looks like a burnt out bride from the 70s in her Celia Kritharioti white gown. The poofy sleeves and the most awkward dress length ever – not your best, Sonam. And to think we’d JUST started fan-girling over your fashion abilities again. Oh, well. The rest of the leading star cast, i.e. Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania dressed up but kept it relatively safer.
Swara was flirty yet elegant in a dirty pink playsuit, while Shikha chose a crisp white blouse to tuck into a high-waist asymmetric midi.
All in all, apart from Kareena’s look, nothing too exciting. The Veere Di Wedding trailer makes more of a mark, though. Watch it here!
