#MustWatch: Sonam Kapoor Just Made The Sweetest Confession About Sridevi

In a recent interview for the promotion of their upcoming film, Veere Di Wedding, the four leading ladies Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Kareena Kapoor and Shikha Talsania discussed the lack of female-centric movies in Bollywood. While Sonam pitched for an Indian version of the Hunger Games, Kareena mentioned how actresses like Sharmila Tagore and Waheeda Rehman have always been giving women the exposure they deserve. 

However, the conversation took a hilarious turn when Sonam began describing how the entry of her father, Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan with the ‘Angry Young Man’ fad ruined the journey, “My father came in with his beedu giri and that’s when it started.”

The highlight of the Anupama Chopra interview was Sonam’s confession about Sridevi, the actress who she always saw as her aunt. Sonam spoke about discussing Sridevi with Anil Kapoor, “Sridevi was the only one who could open a film as big as a hero could,” people often forget the contribution the actress made to the industry. “It is up to us to take the baton and take it forward,” said Sonam while opening up about making prominent women-centric films.
