Sona is known to be an active Twitter user and usually shares her thoughts and personal opinions on the microblogging platform. The last time, the singer had left us all shocked when she shared her experience of sexual harassment, from her college days, which was followed by some victim shaming. And now, Sona has revealed that she was stabbed at the age of 21 when she was pursuing her BTech. The singer further shared that she never told anyone about it as it would ‘worsen matters’.

Taking to Twitter, Sona wrote, “I was stabbed as a young adult pursuing my BTech. Had a scholarship, was working hard. Hid it because it would worsen matters. Was 21. My ‘heart’ feels relieved for the benevolent support for 22yr olds being referred to as kids. My head says an adult world is nasty, deal with it.”

Twitter

Well, this sure is a shocker. We just don’t know what to say!

For the unversed, the singer had made headlines when she took a dig at Kangana Ranaut after a Twitter user asked ‘Who’s making us a vaccine to protect us from Kangana Ranaut?’. Responding to the netizen, Sona said, “I finally found the answer. Kangana herself. Because only she is competent enough to make such a vaccine. She is the question. She is the answer.”

We’re all well aware that Sona is a fearless feminist. She not only took a stand against her own B-town folks but she also spoke up against misogyny and shared her personal stories with us on more than one occasion. In November 2020, the singer recalled an incident from her college days when she was sexually harassed. But it didn’t just end there, because a ‘well-wisher’ who chose to ‘support’ Sona by questioning her choice of clothing.

Being the headstrong woman that she is, Sona has been openly supporting journalist Priya Ramani who was recently acquitted by the Delhi High Court in the criminal defamation case filed by the former Union Minister MJ Akbar. The minister initiated the case in connection with the sexual harassment allegations that the journalist (and 20 others) had levelled against him during the 2018  #MeToo movement.

Well, we must say that we are proud of Sona! She is fearless, courageous and unapologetic about it. More power to you, girl!
