PeeCee’s Brother Siddharth Chopra’s Wedding Has Been Called Off Again

Following his sister’s footsteps, Sidharth Chopra was all set to marry his girlfriend Ishita Kumar in the last week of April. A few months after Priyanka Chopra’s wedding to Nick Jonas in November, Sidharth was engaged to Ishita in a grand ceremony that took place in the Taj hotel, New Delhi. PeeCee, along with hubby Nick, had flown to India to join her family for the celebrations. However, the actress flew back to New York early because her brother’s wedding has been called off.

Earlier, there were reports that Sidharth Chopra’s wedding had been postponed, because his fiance, Ishita, had to undergo minor surgery. A few days ago, Ishita even posted a picture of herself in the hospital and captioned the post, “Recovering from surgery 💉🤯 Very painful but glad it’s over 🙏”

However, what seemed like a delayed date ended up being a canceled one. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka and Sidharth’s mother, confirmed that the wedding has been mutually called off by the bride and the groom. She informed a leading daily, “They (Siddharth and Ishita) have mutually called it off.” On being asked the reason for this sudden turn in events, Madhu revealed why the wedding was canceled at the last minute, “My son Siddharth said he was not ready for marriage yet. He explained he needed more time.” Another source close to the family revealed, “This arranged marriage was being pushed a bit in haste”.

Amidst the rumours of a postponed wedding and reports claiming that the families were looking for another mahurat, Ishita deleted all the pictures of her roka ceremony and her bridal shower from Instagram. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra also unfollowed her on the social media platform. Recently, Ishita posted a picture of herself at a bar with the indicative caption, “Cheers to new beginnings. With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings.”

In the comments’ section, Ishita’s mother Nidhi Kumar wrote, “Close the old book and write a new story”, while her father added, “We are with you. Feel the expanse of the universe and be the star you were born to be.” Ishita’s friends commented on her pictures, telling her to stay strong. In fact, some of the comments even dissed Siddharth.

Siddharth Chopra, who owns a pub in Pune, started dating Ishita Kumar a few years ago. Ishita also appears to have deleted her picture from her last year’s New Year’s celebration with Priyanka, Siddharth and Madhu Chopra.

This is not the first time that there was a wrinkle in Siddharth Chopra’s wedding plans. He was supposed to tie the knot with former girlfriend Kanika Mathur in February 2015 after getting engaged in 2014. However, the Chopra family remained tight-lipped about the whole affair and didn’t specify the reason back then. We wonder what went wrong now.

Meanwhile, back in the US, Priyanka Chopra attended brother-in-law Joe Jonas’ and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner’s wedding in Las Vegas soon after walking the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards. Sophie tied the knot with Joe in a private wedding ceremony at a chapel in Las Vegas!
