Wait, Shraddha Kapoor Makes Her Own Perfume?

Shraddha Kapoor recently spoke to Vogue India about her favourite scent. And while it might be unbelievable to most, she actually makes her own perfume at home.

In the video, she can be seen saying that she likes to mix a little bit of distilled water with a few essential oils. While it sounds pretty easy, there are a lot of nuances that go into this process and we’ve broken them down for you below!

Ingredients & Tools You Will Need:

Step-by-Step Guide With A Carrier Oil

  1. Gather Your Notes: Start with 15-20 drops of your chosen base note – this is your fragrance’s foundation and lasts the longest. Popular base notes include vanilla, cedarwood, and sandalwood.
  2. Add Heart To Your Perfume: Incorporate 10-15 drops of your middle note, often a floral or spice to give your perfume its characteristic heart. Think jasmine or cinnamon for their captivating essences.
  3. Top It Off: Finish with about 10 drops of your top note, which provides that immediate impression when you first spray your perfume. Citrusy and herbaceous oils like lavender and grapefruit are perfect as top notes.
  4. Mix With A Carrier: Blend these oils with 1 to 4 fl oz of perfumer’s alcohol or a carrier oil to dilute them properly and make your fragrance skin-safe. You can replace the oil with distilled water as well.
