DIY Beauty Recipes With Shea Butter
Shea Butter Lip Balm
Measure equal parts shea butter and organic coconut oil. Melt the two ingredients in the microwave and then stir in cinnamon essential oil and orange essential oil along with a half teaspoon of almond oil. Transfer the mixture to a tin and allow it to solidify. You now have a deeply nourishing and smoothening lip balm ready to use.
Shea Butter Hand Cream
Add two tablespoons of shea butter to a bowl and then stir in a tablespoon of jojoba oil. Add 10 drops of lavender essential oil to this mixture and stir to combine. Store this in an airtight container. You can also make smaller or larger batches depending on your requirement. This shea butter hand cream will not only moisturise your hands and cuticles but will also give a soothing effect to your skin.
Shea Butter Moisturising Mask
Combine a tablespoon of shea butter with a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and a teaspoon of almond powder. You can crush up almonds to make almond powder. Once combined, stir in a teaspoon of honey and Fuller’s earth to form a thick paste. Apply this mask on clean skin and allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes. Wet your fingers and massage your face in circular motions. Rinse it off with warm water. Your skin will feel soft and supple.
Shea Butter Body Scrub
Make a creamy exfoliating body scrub to remove dry and dead skin in cold weather with shea butter as it will also keep your skin moisturised, smooth, soothed, and soft. Combine half a cup of shea butter with 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Now stir in an essential oil of choice like lavender or cedarwood. Once this mix is ready add crushed sugar to it gradually until you get a thick and grainy texture. Massage this on damp skin and rinse with water.
