The New Year is finally upon us, and with it, we have a horde of new movies and collaborations to look forward to in Bollywood and the very first of them has officially swept us off our feet with excitement!
It all started with our Bollywood badshah, Shah Rukh Khan dropping the mysterious Instagram post about waiting for the title of Aanand L Rai’s next film.
Curious, but diligently waiting for what magic SRK could possibly bring to screen that we haven’t already watched, lived, breathed and experienced, we were blessed with the title of the film and the teaser which showed King Khan playing the character of a dwarf! Yep, you read that right, and yes, we can’t believe our gobsmacked faces either!
Why is the film titled ‘Zero’, you ask? According to a report by India Today, Aanand L Rai revealed, “I wanted to celebrate ‘Zero’; I wanted to celebrate the incompleteness in people. There is nothing great in being a complete person. There is a beauty to incompleteness. We all are humans and Zero comes from there”.
The movie also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, and is still in the making, but since SRK’s loyal fans were way too excited to get a sneak-peek at his role (duh!), Rai decided to share the teaser on social media.
“Though we are one year away from the release, the film is already getting so much love. So Khan sahaab and I decided to give something to fans. It is purely out of the love and affection that we are getting from the fans,” said Rai.
He also added, “They (fans) are carrying an image in their mind, and it is not exactly what we have in the film. When we were working on it we did not know it (dwarf part) will look this way. I want to replace that image with the right image. The film’s USP is Shah Rukh’s performance.”
But of course, Shah Rukh’s performance is what all of us loyal subjects look forward to in his movies, and his drop-dead good looks are the perfect cherry on the cake! The movie is slated to be released on 21st December, and since I can’t wait that long to see SRK weave his magic, BRB – rewatching the teaser until I break my replay button!
