Shah Rukh Khan, the name synonymous with Bollywood superstardom, has always been regarded as a charming and charismatic hero who conquered the hearts of millions. His journey from a television actor to the Badshah of the silver screen is nothing short of legendary. However, beneath the veneer of glamour and fame, there’s a side to Shah Rukh Khan‘s past that has recently come to light, shocking fans and insiders alike.
In an unexpected revelation, a veteran journalist, who has spent decades chronicling the ins and outs of Bollywood, spilled the beans about Shah Rukh Khan‘s early years in Bollywood during the 80s and 90s. This journalist claimed that SRK was, surprisingly, a victim of bullying during his initial years in the industry.
He said, “80-90s me kaise Shah Rukh Khan ko, matlab, almost everybody in Bollywood used to hate. Matlab koi Bollywood party nhi thi ke Shah Rukh ko gaali diye bina khatam hote the. Agar SRK ko pull down nahi kiya uske absence me, me naam nahi lunga, bohat bade top actors the, 2-4 actor the us waqt, jinke jhade bade mazboot thi, filmy families se they.”
One might wonder how a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan could possibly be a target of bullying. However, as the journalist explained, Shah Rukh Khan’s rise to fame was not without its fair share of challenges and obstacles. He was an outsider, a newcomer who dared to dream big in the world of showbiz. And it seems that his success didn’t sit well with everyone.
The journalist further added, “Unlog ko ek jalan thi ke, ek ladka aya, aur woh Bandra me Makaan, Mannat kharid ke bait gaya hai. Aur uske har saal 3 blockbusters aati hai, aur suddenly saare power centre shift hogaya tha. Toh Shah Rukh ne woh sab jhela.”

According to this, SRK was often cornered and subjected to humiliation at various industry parties and events. The big names in Bollywood, whom one would expect to be welcoming, allegedly had a different stance when it came to SRK. As per the journalist, the entire Bollywood fraternity disliked him and was jealous of his success. If this is true, it sheds light on the harsh realities that outsiders often face in the Indian film industry.
A Filmmaker Praises SRK For Standing Up Against Underworld Bullying
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta recently penned a heartfelt note for Shah Rukh Khan after watching the actor’s performance in Jawan. Gupta took to Twitter to express his admiration for SRK and draw parallels between his performance and the actor’s stance in the 90s when he stood up to the underworld and refused to bow down to their pressures.
He wrote, “I saw Jawan. I feel compelled to share this. Back in the 90s when the underworld bullying of the film stars was at its peak, Shah Rukh Khan was THE ONLY star who never gave in. ‘Goli maarni hai maar do par tumhare liye kaam nahi karunga. Main pathan hoon,’ he said. He’s the same today.”
These revelations underscore the challenges faced by outsiders in the glamourous world of Bollywood. Despite the hurdles he encountered, Shah Rukh Khan’s rise to superstardom remains a beacon of hope and a lesson in perseverance for aspiring actors everywhere.
