Did Shah Rukh Khan Bribe To Win His First Ever Award? This Video Is Proof

Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, has captivated hearts worldwide. He truly deserves every award in the world and he probably has a room filled with them at Mannat. But would you believe us if we told you that King Khan was once so desperate to win an award that he was willing to bribe for it? Yes, you read that right! Scroll down to find out more.

Shah Rukh Khan currently holds a record for the most number of Best Actor awards by Fimfare. The actor is tied for first place with legendary Dilip Kumar, who has eight wins. But, in the early days of his career, Shah Rukh was unsure of his victory and almost did something terrible.

Back in 1994, Shah Rukh Khan had tried to bribe the editor to get his first ever Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Baazigar. He had previously won best debut for Deewana in 1993. In an interview Shah Rukh made this confession and said, “When a person desires something, he becomes a terrible person saying I want this, that, a car, a bungalow, so likewise I desire awards. So I was very desperate to get a best actor award, because I felt, very objectively, I deserve it. I should get this award this year, so that want and desire was in me and because of that I became a terrible person. I went to the editor and told him ‘sir I am a very bad person, I really want this award, but if you will take money I will pay.'”

While the editor rejected his offer, Shah Rukh did end up winning the award organically! After his win, he gave a speech on stage and confessed that he had said some horrible things out of insecurity and in his desire to win to the Filmfare people. He apologised to them and his fans for not trusting in his talent enough. Now, the same man has won so many awards that he hardly even shows up for award ceremonies anymore.
