Celeb-Approved Seasonal Fruits To Add To Your Diet ASAP!

There’s nothing like having a bowl of your favourite fruit to beat the scorching heat. Sure, ice creams and sodas instantly cool, but are they worth the breakouts accompanying them? Or the sugar spike that gets so hard to satiate once a habit is formed? I think not!

Seasonal fruits provide some relief to the system and deliver adequate nutrition to the body. Doctors, nutritionists, and dermatologists recommend adding seasonal fruits to one’s diet, especially during the hotter months. And not just us, celebrities too take this advice seriously.

5 Celebrities & Their Favourite Fruits

Mangoes – Deepika Padukone

The Queen of Bollywood and the king of all fruits – a perfect match. Deepika doesn’t fail to put up a picture of her indulgent fruit bowl every year during mango season. Be it the ripest orange mango or raw mango mixed with salt and loads of chilli powder.

DP’s skin can be credited to what she consumes and this fruit plays a huge role. Rich in Vitamin C, a single portion of it makes up for almost 60% of the recommended Vitamin C intake. Also rich in Vitamin E, it can help boost hair growth.

All aspects of the fruit can be put to use. Its skin of it can be massaged on the face, making for a great exfoliating fruit facial!

Lychees – Mira Kapoor & Karisma Kapoor

Both, Mira Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor have taken to their Instagrams in the past month to share a picture of their fruit bowl comprising juicy lychees. Both stars are also known for their supple, almost ageless skin.

Known for its water content, snacking on the fruit on hot days is the easiest way to cool the body and regulate its temperature. Lychee juice is also an excellent way to replenish electrolytes in the cells.

The fruit is also rich in dietary fibres that help clear out the digestive system. It is also extremely rich in Vitamin C which helps fight oxidative damage, reduces the appearance of early signs of ageing, and protects the skin from free radical damage.

Watermelon – Tara Sutaria

A massive foodie, Tara Sutaria is constantly posting pictures of herself eating different foods. In the early onset of summer, watermelon was her go-to snack.

With approximately 90% water content, this fruit not only replenishes the body’s hydration levels but also helps soothe sunburn and inflammation, thanks to its cooling properties. It also helps control sebum production and therefore helps keep oily skin in check.

Strawberries – Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt’s skin is always glowing, no matter what state of life she’s in. I think it’s because she watches what she eats (and she’s always eating healthy). She posted a picture of herself indulging in a bowl of strawberries and I can’t help but wonder if that’s her source of naturally flushed, rosy cheeks.

Known for its astringent properties, the strawberry helps soothe and reduce the puffiness from the skin and manage the under-eye bags. It also helps tighten the pores and acts as a natural toner.

Strawberries are also known for their anti-inflammatory properties which help reduce breakouts on the skin. It also helps fight off damage caused by free radicals. Strawberry scrubs help unclog pores and clear out the skin, making it smooth and supple.

I know I’ll be snacking on these healthier options and keeping my chips aside if it means getting skin as glorious as these divas!
