There has always been a perception that B-Town celebrities, due to intense professional rivalry, are incapable of forming true friendships within the industry. That the competitive nature of their work makes it difficult for them to find true friends. But that’s not really true! The new generation of actors, notably Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, have been busting the age-old myth surrounding Bollywood friendships. Luckily for us, both Sara and Janhvi are going to be on Koffee With Karan this week, hopefully giving us #friendshipgoals throughout the show. While we wait for the much-awaited episode to drop, let’s take a look at some iconic Bollywood BFFs who restore our faith in true celeb friendships!
Janhvi Kapoor- Sara Ali Khan
Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan share a great camaraderie, despite being contemporaries. In the upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan season 7, we shall see them open up about their friendship, and TBH, we can’t wait to hear all about it! In an interview with ETimes, Sara opened up about her bond with Janhvi and said, “Janhvi and I have much more in common than people might think. We are not best friends; we both have our circle of friends for years. Ultimately, we both are ambitious, career-oriented and strong girls who have lost two years of our careers to the pandemic. Who will understand the restlessness I feel in my heart to go back on the set more than Janhvi? By the time I got used to my life on set, we went into lockdown. That’s what binds us the most.”
Suhana Khan- Ananya Panday- Shanaya Kapoor
These Gen Z star kids have been childhood besties, and their friendship remains strong even years later! While Ananya has already been a part of many movies, Shanaya and Suhana will soon be making their Bollywood debuts with Bedhadak and The Archies respectively. In an interview with an entertainment platform, Shanaya’s mom Maheep Kapoor said that Ananya, Shanaya and Suhana’s friendship will change the perception that Bollywood actors can’t be friends. “These girls will prove them wrong, they’re too tight,” she said.
Ranveer Singh- Arjun Kapoor
We’ve seen them together in the film Gunday, watched their crazy antics on Koffee With Karan season 4, and we absolutely love their camaraderie! These two actors have been great friends for a long time now, and are often seen pulling each other’s leg on social media. We love their bromance on and off screen, and their Instagram banter is just too entertaining! Arjun once opened up about his bond with Ranveer, and said, “I think in a profession where a lot of people wouldn’t want us to be friends, we’ve managed to retain the core values of being friends and I hope that continues.” We hope so too!
Kapoor-Arora Girl Gang!
When talking about Bollywood besties, how can we miss Kareena Kapoor Khan’s girl squad? Kareena, Karisma, Malaika and Amrita have been BFFs for ages, and their friendship has stood the test of time! The IT girl gang of B-Town is often shelling out major #friendshipgoals, and we absolutely love their bond!
Ranbir Kapoor- Ayan Mukerji
Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir Kapoor are great friends. So much so, that Ranbir’s dad Rishi Kapoor had once jokingly suggested that they both get married! “Best friends! How about you both getting married now? High time!”, he had tweeted. Not just Ranbir, Ayan also shares a great bond with Alia Bhatt. At the teaser launch event of Brahmastra, Ayan Mukerji talked about his friendship with Ranbir and said, “This was a true marriage. I committed a lifetime to make movies with Ranbir. We got along very well professionally and personally.”
Karan Johar- Kajol
Karan Johar and Kajol have been BFFs for more than 3 decades! Yes, they had an ugly fallout a few years ago, but they chose to put it behind them, and prioritized their decades old friendship. From Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to My Name Is Khan- Karan and Kajol have worked together on numerous mega hit projects!
Besides these, other Bollywood BFF pairings include Sonam Kapoor- Swara Bhasker, Salman Khan-Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt- Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan- Juhi Chawla. These friendships are direct answers to anyone who believes B-Town friendships are fake!
