Sara Ali Khan has been the talk of the town ever since she was a teenager. Being a star kid, Sara has always been in the spotlight. And now that this 24-year-old is officially making her big break with Simmba, we are here to tell you all the things you didn’t know about the debutante. In today’s Instagram post, Karan Johar announced that Sara will be cast opposite Ranveer Singh in this Rohit Shetty film, making the rumours official.
To be honest, December 28 doesn’t sound that far. And the fact that the story of Simmba has been kept tightly under wraps has left us wanting more. To soothe our aching hearts, we decided to make a list of tidbits that offer some insight into who Sara Ali Khan is.
1. She’s The Daughter Of Saif Ali Khan And Amrita Singh
Tha couple were married in 1991 and divorced in 2004 and have two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The divorce was a bitter one and Sara lived for a large part of her life with her mother, ‘My wife and I have gone our separate ways. I respect my wife’s space. But why am I being constantly reminded of how terrible a husband I was, and how awful a father I am. I have my son Ibrahim’s photograph in my wallet. Each time I look at it, I feel like crying. I miss my daughter Sarah all the time. I’m not allowed to meet my children. They aren’t allowed to come to visit me, let alone stay with me,’ said Saif in an interview with a leading newspaper back in 2005.
2. She Went To Columbia University
The Pataudi family has a tradition of Ivy League universities and of course, Sara Ali Khan took it forward with her Columbia University degree. ‘This degree is your only passport — from the husband that beats you to a country that collapses economically, you can survive everything. She can get a job anywhere in the world,’ said Saif Ali Khan in a recent interview.
3. She Is Janhvi Kapoor’s Best Friend
Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor may have been pitted against each other by the media due to the clash of their debut dates but the actresses are actually very close in real life. They can often be seen partying together and Sara was said to be a great support system when Janhvi’s mother, Sridevi, passed away recently.
4. Her Original Debut Was Kedarnath
The actress was said to make her debut with Kedarnath, which she had begun shooting for. But due to some financial disputes, the shooting of the film had been put on hold for a while. While Kedarnath is on track once again, this film opposite Sushant Singh Rajput will not be Sara Ali Khan’s debut. The trailer is out and it sure looks promising!
5. She Lost Weight For Her Bollywood Debut
Sara Ali Khan went from a cute, chubby kid to a hottie, but the transformation wasn’t overnight and she worked really hard to achieve those killer abs.
6. Sara Looks Like A Younger Version Of Her Mom
The resemblance is uncanny and we actually love it! It’s been a while since Amrita came on screen and we miss her.
7. She Loves Playing Tennis
The actress may be a gym freak but she is often seen taking out time to hit the tennis court with her father and brother.
8. She’s Surprisingly Close To Kareena Kapoor
Kareena, Sara, and Ibrahim get along quite well, in fact, they are often spotted partying together frequently. “We’re like best friends. Saif refuses to come out with us. She’s my bar hopping partner. I enjoy my equation with her. They are the most well brought up children,” said Kareena in a newspaper interview.
That’s all the dose of Sara Ali Khan we get today!
