After Sara Ali Khan admitted on Koffee With Karan that she would like to date Kartik Aaryan, Ranveer Singh officially introduced them to each other at an event. Sara and Kartik then started working on Imtiaz Ali’s remake of Love Aaj Kal, which is a romantic drama. After spending lots of time with each other on set, it was reported that the couple starting dating. Rumours of them getting cosy with one another were all over the news.
People were so into the idea of them being together that they were mobbed outside a restaurant when they went on a date. They were seen holding hands and spending time with each other’s families. Kartik was photographed with Sara’s brother Ibrahim at the Khans’ ancestral home in Pataudi, after which he travelled to New Delhi to cheer Sara on as she walked the ramp for the first time. Kartik also flew all the way to Bangkok to be with Sara on her birthday and Sara, too, flew to Lucknow to be with Kartik while he was shooting for Pati, Patni Aur Woh, fuelling the rumours. They are often seen picking each other up at the airport too.
But now they seemed to have parted ways. Talking about their decision to break up, a source told a leading daily that the couple tried very hard to make time for each other after they wrapped up the shooting for Love Aaj Kal, but their tight schedules didn’t permit them to spend enough time together and therefore they decided to break up.
From what it seems, the couple has called off their relationship because of professional commitments. Kartik is currently working on Pati, Patni Aur Woh with Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday while Sara is working with Varun Dhawan on the remake of Coolie no 1.
Kartik and Sara have been quite fond of one another and have never shied away from admitting it in public. In an interview with a leading daily, Kartik once said, “Sara is a star and a person with a heart of gold. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. She has a certain positive energy that she brings to the screen and I would love to work with her again and again.”
