The End Of An Era? Here’s Everything We Know About Why Sanjivani 2 May Be Going Off Air
Sanjivani was loved by audiences all around the country. Mohnish Bahl became a star and hospital love affairs became the new cute. We all used to be glued to the TV watching the show every day rooting for the couples we adored the most. Even the show Dil Mil Gaye which was based on the same premise was a fan favourite with everyone showering love on Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Armaan.
However, Sanjivani 2 failed to have the same impact on audiences. It neither got people hooked to it nor did it manage to get TRPs. When it first aired people did watch it but their attention wavered elsewhere and they stopped. There were rumours that Sanjivani 2 would be going off-air only two months after it aired but the showrunners refuted that. At the same time, reports have surfaced once again that the show is being cancelled in December because it isn’t meeting its required TRPs.
Sources in the report were quoted saying, “Makers made many efforts to boost the TRP of the show.” But all this has gone in vain. The main storyline that was being pushed was between the characters of Surabhi Chandna and Namit Khanna however, audiences obviously did not connect with them or feel their chemistry and so it didn’t leave that big a punch. Hence, the show makers have decided to take the show off-air from the 2nd of December.
However, the show producers have still not commented on the closure of the show.
Sanjivani 2 started in August this year and stars Mohnish Bahl, Surabhi Chandna, Sayantani Ghosh, Gurdeep Kohli, and Namit Khanna in lead roles. The sequel to the first Sanjivani, Dil Mil Gaye released in 2007 was a super hit and starred Jennifer Winget, Karan Singh Grover.
We will keep you posted when there’s a confirmation from the producers of the show until then the 90s kid obsessed with Sanjivani and Dil Mil Gaye in us is crying!
