Reports Say Saif Ali Khan’s 5000 Cr Property Can’t Be Passed On To His Kids But There’s A Catch!

As the tenth Nawab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan inherited a fortune from his late dad, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. This includes some of the most luxurious real estate in India. However, fresh reports suggest that his kids won’t be able to inherit the same. But is it true? Let’s find out.

Saif owns the world-famous Pataudi Palace in Haryana, an ancestral home in Bhopal, and other precious belongings amassed by his royal ancestors worth a whopping INR 5000 Cr. However, as per some recent reports, Saif Ali Khan’s luxurious House of Pataudi comes under the Enemy Dispute Act, 1968, of the Government of India. According to the law, neither one can claim the right over such property nor it can be inherited. This looks like it annihilates the chance for Saif’s children, Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Taimur Ali Khan, and Jehangir Ali Khan to own their royal mansion. However, there’s a catch!

Years ago, Saif Ali Khan’s dad, Mansoor Ali Khan leased out the Pataudi Palace to the Neemrana group of hotels, which operated it as a luxury property. Cut to 2014, the Pataudi Nawab decided to clear the lease by paying INR 800 Cr to the hotel chain and took control of the property. Talking about the same in an interview, he shared, “It was a fair financial arrangement and contrary to reports, I did not have to buy it back because I already owned it. I just cleared the lease.”

The question is—why would Saif spend a fortune on something that he can’t even pass on to the next generation? Perhaps there’s a catch. Our guess is that he already has this figured out!

When Saif Talked About His ‘Normal’ Upbringing!

Back in the day, Saif Ali Khan appeared in a media interaction and addressed the age-old chatter around his ‘Nawab’ tag. He opened up about how his parents, Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi tried their best to give him a privileged but extremely normal upbringing. In a candid convo, Saif shared, “I definitely had a privileged upbringing, but as far as money goes, my parents never gave me any pocket money, at least not more than the guy next door. I had a normal upbringing, and there are no nawabs (royals); it’s a tag in movies. My father (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) was the last nawab (royal). And even he didn’t think of himself as one. The image isn’t because I’m a nawab (royal), but because I enjoy the lifestyle of a movie star. Sometimes you can’t beat your image, and it’s okay. It’s fine. If the image was true, it would be nothing to me.”
