It’s easy to believe that celebrities have perfect lives. However, the truth is that we all struggle, no matter how rich and famous we might be. Saif Ali Khan recently shared that he was in a dark place a while ago, mentally and professionally, and if it wasn’t for the work offers he got he wouldn’t have been able to come out of it and start the second innings of his career.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Saif Ali Khan opened up about his mental and professional challenges. He also took the opportunity to thank the filmmakers for offering him quality roles, giving him a chance to step into the next phase of his career at a time when he was in a ‘ditch’ mentally and physically.
“Honestly, I believe I have worked very hard. I was in a bit of a ditch, mentally and professionally. I managed to get out of that. It is like climbing a mountain. I feel like I am on base camp 1 and we have made progress but there is a long way to go. The ropes are set, the boots are tied, and we have got our sights on the hill and we are climbing. There is a really nice line-up. I am super excited Bhoot Police is finally 80% complete and it’s a dream role for me. We really had a good time doing that,” said the actor.
Saif said that his journey has not been particularly easy but work has been great, especially with all the ‘super supportive’ people. He went on to share that it is his work that has helped him get out of the ‘ditch’. “It is the only thing that has gotten me out of that feeling. Just by working hard and choosing the right scripts. People have also supported me by offering me those parts,” he added.
We know it’s not easy to open up publically and talk about such sensitive issues so we can’t help but look up to Saif for being so brave! More power to you!
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan is currently involved in multiple projects including Bhoot Police, Tandav, the sequel to Bunty Aur Bubbly, Adipurish and others. He shot for Bhoot Police in Himachal Pradesh in the second half of 2020 along with Arjun Kapoor. This film stars Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez as well. On the other hand, Saif’s much talked about web series Tandav starring Sunil Grover, Dimple Kapadia, and Sarah Jane Dias is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.
We’re glad to have you back in full form Saif. And we hope you continue to thrive, personally and professionally!
