You can either hate or love it, but when it comes to Rubina Dilaik’s fashion choices, the lady grabs our attention every single time. I mean, there was not even a single episode on Bigg Boss 14 where the actress didn’t dazzle us with her stunning sartorial picks. I still remember her gorgeous saree collection and dainty headbands and accessories. In fact, I tried finding them online and luckily enough, got my hands on some similar pieces. But boy, it was so not easy! Wait, have you been trying your luck on recreating her looks as well? Then ladies, we have something special for you!
The BB 14 winner has recently announced that she would be soon auctioning a few gowns she wore on the show. Not just that, she would also share her valued personal memorabilia and outfits from her music video, Marjaneya. And, if you think that all this is amazing, then wait till you hear the cause. It will defs make you adore this amazing actress even more.
Rubina is organising this virtual sale to support the transgender community. The funds raised by the auction would support Color Positive, an NGO that helps the LGBTQIA+ community. The actress, who played a trans woman on her show, Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, has always been a transgender rights activist. In an interview with a leading daily, she said that she wished to celebrate Pride Month by supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
She said that the items she’d be selling held a sentimental value in her life. She added, “But if I can share them with the world in support of an important cause, nothing would make me happier. It’s Pride Month, and we need to be louder in support of the LGBTQIA+ community! Since my work in my show, I have related and connected with the transgender community closely. The stigma they continue to face is an issue we can resolve in our lifetime. All we need is awareness and compassion, so I hope we can use platforms like this to talk about this more and address the conscious and unconscious biases we all may be harbouring.”
Rubina mentioned that she got the idea of the fundraiser when she won BB 14 trophy. She said, “The day I won, it just suddenly struck me that I wanted to auction my gown- my entry gown to the Bigg Boss house and also the gown which I wore on the finale day. I wanted to raise funds for the NGOs and charities whose cause I can associate with. So this idea struck me the day I lifted the Bigg Boss 14 trophy. I don’t know why, but it did.”
While talking about the virtual auction that would take place at the end of this month, she said, “The sales will lead to help raise funds for one of the charities, that helps the LGBTQIA+ community and they currently are helping them with medication. Anyone suffering from Covid-19 or who needs post-Covid care or supplements will get free medication. If we are able to raise funds more than the requirement for medication, then those funds will help them buy basic necessities for their homes.”
We gotta say, Rubina’s initiative reminded us once again of all the reasons why her fans love her so much. Honestly, the actress knows how to win our hearts over and over again!
