Being an Indian bride means you have to be glam and be extra. After all, a desi wedding means three days of mad parties and a royal extravaganza. And for such a momentous occasion the dulhan has to look the part. With a lehenga that feels like you’re carrying another person along and jewellery that is constantly weighing you down, you’re sure as hell at least five kilograms heavier. But with minimalism being the new chic, these 9 brides incorporated it in their bridal looks. Instead of going for those heavy statement pieces, they chose to keep their jewellery simple yet classic and oh what a breath of fresh air that was.
1. Radiance is always a good look
This bride chose to go for that simple radiant look. Her makeup was subtle yet glam in some ways. She chose to wear tiny earrings and two diamond strings on her neck and you know what, she looked drop-dead-gorgeous!
2. Single enchanting stone to do all the talking
Emerald is a wedding favourite. It compliments Indian bridal ensembles and the contrast looks regal. This bride went for a cream outfit and styled her hair in beachy waves. She accessorised her look with a diamond necklace with a single statement emerald to catch all the attention.
3. Lehanga is the star of the day
This blushing bride chose to be a little hatke and wore a blue lehenga for her D-day. So that the outfit could be the star, she went for a simple diamond neckpiece along with earrings and a bracelet. Also, I spy with my eye that massive solitaire on her finger, everything starts from that rock, right!?
4. Classy, chic and always on point
A string of pearls have been in fashion since forever, some things never do change. To add that extra oomph to this beige and white attire, a string of pearls and some earrings did the trick. Also, we love us a groom whose accessories match his wife-to-be!
5. Only swagalicious for that millennial bride
If you want to do gold then you can always layer it with another stone to add some contrasting colour to the look. The two necklaces along with the armband and bangles make the orange in the saree stand out. And that colourful kamarbandh, yes, please!
6. Whispering about the demure bride in pastels
If you aren’t one for the whole loud and dhinchak trend then pastels are the way to go. This bride looks ethereal in her beige wedding lehenga, a simple diamond necklace with matching earrings and a mangtikka. The fresh and minimal makeup just adds to the understated look.
7. Muted andstylish, we are screaming YES!
Who said no to white on a wedding, looking at this Greecian themed one, all we can say is yes, a thousand times yes! In keeping with the theme of white, this bride went for a kundan set but not those oppulant ones. She wore a simpler choker and matching earrings and maang tikka. Oh well, talk about being muted.
8. Who said a myriad of colours can’t be minimal?
Jhumkis along with an Indian attire is always a safe bet. With all the colour that happens at a wedding- outfit, varmaala, sindoor, maybe keep the jewellery light and basic.
9. Pinkity-dinkity blushing brides
Miss matchy-matchy chose a glittering pink dress to wear on her special day. But paired it with pink accessories to look like the bride but not a disco ball. The subtly in colour and jewels goes to show that you don’t have to be OTT to play the part of the bride, with your radiance and smile you’ll anyway outshine the rest.
So chuck those heavy bridal neckpieces that you can’t wear again and invest in simple, elegant and wearable jewellery for the big day!
