So, to get it straight from the horse’s mouth, we spoke to 8 real brides who revealed that ONE beauty treatment that worked wonders for them before their D-Day! Read on to find out what they are!
1. Eating and drinking right is the key…
“With all the preparations going on, I didn’t really get the time to pamper myself and so, my beautician advised me to go for body polishing a week before my wedding. It’s a treatment that exfoliates your body and makes it supple and soft. It worked, because it not only hydrated my skin, but also helped me relax. Other than that, I made sure I was eating right and drinking lots of water at least a month before my wedding day.”
– Tanvi Srivastava, Delhi
2. Going au naturel worked for me…
“I was previously a member of the cabin crew for a leading airlines, because of which I had to wear makeup for 16-17 hours a day. When my wedding was fixed, I did not want to do any chemical treatments on my face and went for multani mitti, rose water and besan face packs instead. Since I was living in Abu Dhabi then, I also indulged in a Moroccan bath which really helped!”

3. Laser hair removal was totally worth all the bucks I spent on!
“Once my wedding date was decided, the only things that worried me were my facial hair. Therefore, 3 months prior to my wedding, I underwent a few sessions of laser hair removal which made my skin flawless. It felt clear, bright and very smooth. Not only was it a great investment for my wedding, but months later, my face is still hairless and I love it.”
– Jyoti Dixit, Mumbai
4. A facial that changed my bridal beauty game!
“I am not one to wear make up regularly and was going for the most natural look possible for my wedding day. Since I was extremely scared of any sort of chemical reaction so close to the D-Day, I stayed away from conventional pre-wedding beauty treatments at salons. The one thing I did want however, was a fresh face for which I went for a regular facial about two weeks prior to the wedding. Not only was my face blackhead and blemish free, I felt subtle and beautiful, not only on the outside but inside too!”

5. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing regularly is all you need to do…
“I’ve never really been one to indulge myself in beauty treatments per se, but I have always been very particular about my daily CTM (cleansing, toning, moisturizing) routine. A few months prior to my wedding, I ensured I followed a thorough CTM routine twice a day. That, along with my religious monthly salon cleanups ensured that I had flawless skin before the D-Day.”

6. No store-bought face washes for one WHOLE month!
“I’m sure most brides-to-be know the chaos that goes into planning a wedding! I didn’t really have the time for any pre-bridal beauty treatments, though I’d try to fit in some DIY’s whenever time permitted. I’d heard a lot about the beauty benefits of turmeric, rice and besan, and I stumbled across an article that involved replacing your daily face wash with a mixture of the these powders. It seemed pretty hassle free so I decided to give it a shot. I mixed them with some rose water and used it as a face wash every morning and night for one month consistently. I was blown away by the results. My skin was baby soft, clear, glowing and acne free. Come to think of it, I should probably go on a face wash detox again!”

7. Good amount of water + sleep = gorgeous skin!
“I started with consuming a good amount of water to keep my skin hydrated and also ensured I had ample amount of sleep. Apart from that, I regularly exfoliated my body with a scrub, to attain a smooth texture. I also used natural ingredients like honey and tomato juice to clean the face, and later applied ice over my face to close those pores. I also went for an oil therapy that helped me relax. The combination of different treatments gave me an unmistakable glow on my wedding day.”
– Nazia Khan, Mumbai
8. Various home remedies helped me a lot!
“I only went for home remedies because I had no time to go for treatments. I took Vitamin E capsules every day and Vitamin C every alternate day. Apart from that, I applied a DIY besan, honey, curd and lemon face pack, which made my skin glow on my wedding day!”
– Palki Malhotra, VP, Plixxo
