Bride Cancels Thailand Wedding Due To Coronavirus, Gets Married At Nani’s House Instead!
With over 6,500 deaths due to coronavirus, there is a lot of panic across the globe. The pandemic has not only affected the tourism and global economies, but it has also put a wrinkle in the wedding industry. While some couples are cautiously moving ahead, many of them are forced to cancel their weddings due to the outbreak. One of them is Deepika Ghose.
Deepika rose to fame as the ‘RCB Fan Girl’ after she was spotted at a cricket match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during Indian Premier League 2019. The nation instantly took a liking towards her and there’s been no looking back ever since. Deepika recently had to cancel her Thailand wedding due to the coronavirus outbreak but that didn’t stop her and her fiancé Chitang from celebrating their love.
Deepika and her beau Chitang opted to get married at her Nani’s house in Mumbai and it was the most gorgeous wedding ever. She took to Instagram and shared pictures and deets from the intimate ceremony.
Deepika and Chitang had planned their wedding in Phuket and were supposed to get married in the first week of March, but due to the pandemic, it became impossible to host their friends and family in Thailand. Therefore, the couple decided to tie the knot in an extremely intimate ceremony with just 11 people in attendance – their siblings, parents and grandparents.
“What made it even more special was the fact that we got married in the same house & the same spot where my parents got married 34 years ago! We even sat on the exact same stools that my parents had used for their wedding ceremony”, she shared. How beautiful is that?!
Even though they didn’t get to have a lavish wedding in Thailand, the pictures from the Mumbai ceremony clearly prove that the couple had the time of their lives and looked their stunning best.
Deepika wore a beautiful Sabyasachi lehenga similar to what Deepika Padukone wore for one of her receptions. She complimented her gorgeous attire with a choker handcrafted with emeralds, rubies and uncut diamonds by Anmol Jewellers. Matching earrings, a maangtikka and a traditional nath completed her look.
Chitang, on the other hand, wore a beige sherwani along with red and golden safa.

Deepika and Chitang still plan to go ahead with their original plans once the situation is controlled and it’s safe to travel.
Well, we understand that everyone wants to have the perfect wedding but in times like these, we would recommend you put safety first. Even if you don’t want to cancel your wedding due to the pandemic, postpone or replan the shaadi, just like Deepika, so that you and your bae can enjoy your D-day to the fullest.
