Ranveer Singh is the unparalleled energizer bunny in Bollywood, who has proved his mettle by essaying versatile roles onscreen. He’s the only actor who had the nerves of steel to play a nefarious villain at the peak of his career and make badassery look ultra cool.
Ranveer has had the privilege to work with the most renowned directors in the industry but you wouldn’t believe whose films give him the ultimate ‘adrenaline’ rush.
It’s none other than the director of high octane action and hysterical comedy films, Rohit Shetty.

Ranveer, in an interview with PTI, revealed that masala films like Simmba attracted him to become an actor in the first place. He said, “Getting a chance to work with Rohit Shetty who is the king of masala movies is a huge deal for me. I find it very challenging. You have to perform so many things – there is a comedy, action, drama – everything together. This movie has a lot of all genres. The adrenaline is what I live for and hence shooting for this was a blast.”
In Simmba, Ranveer will be seen donning the hat of a Mumbai cop named Sangram Simmba Bhalerao.
On being asked what is the toughest genre to pull off, Ranveer said, “Comedy is the hardest as you need to nail it with every dialogue delivery. I don’t have any expectations for December but I’m just enjoying the process. It’s very enriching and I’m trying to absorb all of it. It’s exciting to see the audience anticipation though.”
Helmed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar, Simmba stars Sara Ali Khan opposite Ranveer. The film is slated to hit theatres on December 28, 2018.
