Well, we all know that Ranveer Singh is a bonafide actor. He leaves no stone unturned when it comes to preparing for his roles. Remember when he locked himself in a room for months while preparing for his role as Khilji in Padmaavat? After that and Gully Boy (when he learned to rap), the actor is now gearing up to play Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83, which is based on India’s historic win against West Indies in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. And it is this film that’s making him move cities.
Ranveer wants to adopt the method acting approach for this one. The 33-year-old actor will head to Delhi tomorrow to live and train with Kapil Dev for 10 days. While living with the ace cricketer, the actor will try to absorb the former captain’s nuances and habits. According to a source close to him, Ranveer has a set plan for his Delhi trip, “He wants to see, live and breathe Kapil before he starts shooting.”
“I’m looking forward to spending more time with Kapil sir. He is kind, generous, warm and funny. I had a memorable two days with him in Dharamsala. I’m going to spend more time with him in Delhi to learn more about him,” the actor said in a statement.
He further added, “It’s a first of its kind exercise in my acting process where I’ll be studying the man himself in the flesh for my onscreen portrayal of him. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to learn about life from a true legend.”
The movie is slated for release on April 10, 2020 and also features Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi and Ammy Virk in key roles.
