Rana Daggubati, the Baahubali actor who made heads turn and hearts flutter with his villainous performance and charm in the super hit film series, is all set to surprise us again. After making a mark in Telugu, Tamil and the Hindi film industries, he is going to star in a remake of the 1971 classic, Haathi Mere Saathi alongside renowned Tamil filmmaker, Prabhu Solomon who will debut in Bollywood with this movie.
“There’s a very exciting physical language to the character I’m playing in Haathi Mere Saathi and is completely different from what I’ve done in the past. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the content that can travel across the country. It is a rare story about the relevance of nature in our lives, narrated through a wonderful relationship between a man and an elephant. Prabhu Solomon’s passion for nature and elephants makes him the finest craftsman in the country who can handle a story like this,” Rana shared with Mumbai Mirror.
The original film revolved around an orphaned Raju, played by the late Khanna, and his elephant companions who rises to fame with him. While the storyline might remain the same, we are excited to see what Prabhu Solomon has in store for us! The film is all set to release by Diwali, 2018 and we just can’t wait to see Rana in a new avatar.
