Hey married couples, we understand that quarantined life may be hard for some of you. Well, it’s hard for everyone but sharing your space with another person constantly can be a task too. However, there are many things that you can do together to make use of your time productively. From home cleaning and nourishing yourself to catching up with loved ones, you and your husband can spend these twenty-odd days really doing things that will make you feel a whole lot better.
Grab your husband’s hands and get going because here are nine productive things to do during the lockdown:
An atmosphere of fear and anxiety is only killed by looking after your mental well being, living mindfully and understanding that this too shall pass.
Cross your legs and meditate
Giphy
This may be hard for many of you but meditation can be a great way to calm yourself during these times. There are many guided meditation apps like Calm, Headspace, Inside Turner etc if you need an extra push towards it. So sit together and meditate, even five minutes in a day to get in touch with your inner self.
Pick up DIY projects
Together you can pick up DIY projects around the house like getting out the toolbox and rebuilding something with household items. You can repaint old vases and even create new ones using paper mache and old newspapers. It’ll also connect you more to each other.
Call up aging relatives
Giphy
Ageing relatives may be feeling even more scared of the coronavirus than you and me. Sit together and go through your list of grandparents, aunts and uncles who are old and are having a tough time getting groceries and things and ask if you can help in any way.
Build a good habit
They say it takes twenty-one days to build a good habit so you can finally start something you’ve been meaning to for a long time. If working out has been on your agenda, then go ahead and start it, now is the time. The great part is that you and your husband can be accountability buddies too.
Start a night routine
Giphy
Having a great night routine is an important part of being healthy. Switch off your phone an hour before sleeping, indulge in your skincare routine and actually talk to each other. Otherwise during normal office hours either one of the partners comes home tired and just collapses into the bed. This is the time to actually discuss your lives.
Learn a new skill together
Always wanted to learn how to cook but never got a chance? Now is the time. One of you can chop and cook while the other can clean the dishes. Put on a YouTube tutorial and learn everything you can.
Have a crossword or Sudoku competition
Giphy
Pick up an online crossword or sodoku and see who can crack it faster. This way you can get your brain cells to keep working as well as have fun in the evening together.
Tackle a puzzle together
Giphy
If you both like challenging tasks then a puzzle will be a great evening activity to do together. Just open a bottle of wine (or two) and try completing that puzzle that’s been lying in the drawer since forever.
Have a dance session
Put on some Bollywood music and dance your hearts out. When was the last time you actually really danced your worries away without any occasion? Hold each other and learn all the hook steps to the latest tracks!
Remember, we’re all in this together and we’ve to look after each other. You’ll get through this! ❤
