She’s an actor, singer, producer, and a role model! Priyanka Chopra never stops surprising us and we love her for it. A Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, the Quantico actress has given us major life goals. And now, her selfless contributions have won her the Mother Teresa Memorial Award for social justice. How cool is that!
PC has been fighting for social causes for a long time. Recently, she met Syrian kids who have been displaced by the war and created awareness about the refugee crisis on social media. Furthermore, she also received the Digital Marketers Award for Most Effective Use Of Digital Platforms For A Social Cause (organised by Money Control and Internet and Mobile Association of India).
We’re sure her fans are elated that her efforts are being lauded and she’s getting the appreciation she deserves.
Our desi girl was invited by the Harmony Foundation, the prestigious non-profit that has honoured personalities such as Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Sushmita Sen and Malala Yousafzai with this award in the past.

Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra received the award on behalf of her daughter since PC is away. In a statement, she said, “I humbly accept the award on her behalf. As a mother, I am immensely proud to have a child who is so compassionate and has so much kindness in her. She exemplifies the fact the more you give, the more you get. Even as a child, she was influenced by Mother Teresa and has been supporting Prem Niwas in Bareilly.”
The actor’s mum is super proud of her, and said that it is absolutely justified for her to receive the award. “I’m thankful and I’m sure Priyanka is humbled that her efforts have been recognised by the Foundation that believes in helping the needy and supporting the deprived and raising funds for the impoverished.”
PC is in the States right now, but we can’t wait to hear what she has to say about this incredible honour when she gets back to Mumbai for the holidays.
All we’d like to say at the end is thank you, Priyanka, for making this world a slightly better place with your kindness and benevolence.
