Priyanka Chopra Reveals The Reason Why She Dropped Her Surname & It Makes So Much Sense

As bizarre as it sounds, even the simplest decision like changing the name on Instagram can cause a massive uproar on the internet if you are a celeb. Priyanka Chopra can certainly attest to this statement.

A while ago, Priyanka changed her name from ‘Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ to ‘Priyanka’ on the ‘Gram and all hell broke lose. Netizens couldn’t stop making all sorts of assumptions about the couple. Within a matter of seconds, all anyone could talk about was—’are Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra heading for a divorce?’ ‘Is PC thinking of separation?’ ‘Is it over for #NickYanka?’ 

Recently, PC spoke about the massive trolling she faced after this incident and cleared the air. In an interview, the Barfi actress said, “I don’t know. I wanted the username to match my Twitter, I guess. I just find it really amusing that everything becomes such a huge deal to people. It’s social media, guys. Just chill out.”

TBH, people really need to stop reading between the lines when it comes to celebrities. Maybe (we mean totally), people should mind their own business and focus less on spewing negativity on social media. 

Nick and Priyanka are stronger than ever! Earlier today, the Sucker singer took to the ‘Gram to share a story for PC’s latest release The Matrix Resurrections. Nick wrote, “Congratulations to my amazing wife @priyankachopra and the entire cast of @thematrixmovie! What an incredible film.” In another post, he penned, “Proud of you @priyankachopra”

This is what a happy marriage looks like. Nick and Priyanka never miss a chance to make us swoon and we love it.

Earlier this month, Priyanka spilled the beans on how she balances her personal and professional commitments. During Laura Brown’s podcast, the Mary Kom star said, “We prioritise each other in everything that we do. We’ve had individual careers, and we’re both very clear about never interfering in each other’s professional lives because we’re always partners and assets. We’ll have an opinion on each other’s thing; we’ll be each other’s champions, but those decisions are predominately for both of us to take because we’ve built our careers by ourselves for such a long time.”
