The Tape Came Off! Priyanka Chopra Talks About Her Two Most Uncomfortable Looks To Date

Ever tried dancing while wearing an off-shoulder bra? Well, in case you haven’t, here’s a suggestion: don’t because that’s perhaps the most uncomfortable shiz ever! But then again, such is fashion. “Fashion is always uncomfortable. When you get comfortable, you never get the look,” someone once said. And while Coco Chanel and Vera Wang didn’t really agree the truth is that fashion is sometimes uncomfortable (if not always). 

From off-shoulder bras to toe breaking stilettos, fashion does have in its arsenal some of the most uncomfortable things that humans could possibly do to themselves. Don’t at us while we do a little fashion bashing today because even Priyanka Chopra agrees and has had her share of these uncomfortable fashion moments as well. In a recent interview with People magazine, Priyanka talked about two of her most comfortable fashion moments, and boy, do we feel her?

During the conversation, Priyanka talked about her 2000 Miss World Crowning moment and how she was equal parts scared and elated during the ceremony. “In the year 2000, I won Miss World and my dress was taped on to me. By the time I won at the end, I was stressing so much because it was so stressful that the entire tape came off. And the whole time I was doing my walk, I kept my hands like this in a ‘namaste’. People thought it was a namaste but it was actually holding my dress up,” she explained.

Now, more often than not, off-shoulder garments tend to be uncomfortable. However, it is what Priyanka says has been her second most uncomfortable look to date, that will have you really surprised. While the marsala, velvet Ralph Lauren outfit that PC wore for Met Gala 2018 did not appear particularly uncomfortable, it came with a corset and well, now you know how the rest of this story goes! Speaking about the same, Priyanka shared, “It was this blood red, Ralph Lauren, beautiful outfit with a gold hood. But the corset under that thing, I couldn’t breathe! I felt like it reshaped my ribs. So hard to sit during dinner. Obviously couldn’t eat too much that night.”

That said, we really can not forget how smashing PC actually looked in that velvet Ralph Lauren and her wine lips looked so gorg! And while we can’t say anything about the custom Ralph Lauren, you can surely get the wine lips. Here’s how: 

Lastly, let’s not forget that for every pair of stilettos, fashion has also given us an ample number of comfy loafers. And if fashion can be uncomfortable at times, it can also be really, really comfortable provided you know what to wear. Also, no judgments for anyone who loves their high heels and tube tops as much as their morning coffee. Fashion at the end of the day is the art of expressing your true self and that’s why: to each their own!
