Alaya F, the daughter of Pooja Bedi is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Saif Ali Khan in the film Jawaani Jaaneman and we can’t wait to see her on the big screen. The newbie doesn’t shy away from accepting the reality–even though she has worked hard to get where she is, she is more privileged than others being a star kid.
She was asked a question about nepotism in an interview and she put out the facts pretty frankly. Alaya said, “We need to realise that even in our struggle, we are privileged. If we got rejected in 10 auditions, someone else has got the thumbs down 100 times. Their struggle is greater than ours. But just because I’m privileged, doesn’t mean that I’m not going to do what I love and work hard at it.”
The newcomer seems very well prepared for the bright camera lights and the media attention that she’s bound to get. She also claimed to have learned from her contemporaries’ mistakes. She added, “Sara, Ananya (Panday), Tara (Sutaria), Janhvi (Kapoor), among others, are all extremely talented in different ways and together we’ve so much to offer. I respect everyone and have watched all their interviews several times to learn from their mistakes and take a note of their good points. I’ve also learned to see them in the limelight.”
She also spoke about which male actors she wants to be cast with. Kartik Aaryan being a favourite among the ladies, also made it to Alaya’s list. She also wants to work with Varun Dhawan and Ayushmann Khurrana as she enjoys watching them on screen. She even opened up about how she admires Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Deepika Padukone.
In Jawaani Jaaneman, Alaya plays Saif Ali Khan and Tabu’s daughter. The makers even released a party song from the movie called Gallan Kardi, which is a recreation of Jazzy B’s Punjabi classic Jeene Mera Dil Lutteya. The movie hits theatres on January 31.
We’re sending all our best wishes to Alaya and we’re glad that someone in the industry understands what privilege truly means.
