Finding the right fit when it comes to your skincare routine is imperative. Understanding what works well for your skin and what absolutely doesn’t is key. Well, here we have some Plixxo bloggers tell you about that one skincare tip they swear by. Hope it helps!

‘HYDRATION! I cannot stress enough on how important water is for your beauty routine. It hydrates your skin and nullifies the toxins. Water is essential!’
Product recommendation: Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator (Rs 1,950)
2. Komal Khulbe
‘For super glowing skin, include flaxseeds into your breakfast! It gives a healthy glow to the skin, and as for those pesky pimples mix potato and cucumber juice into an ice tray and use the ice cubes right after washing your face.’
Product recommendation: Organic Harvest 3-in-1 Face Wash (Rs 395)
3. Anwesha Mukherjee
‘As a working woman who suffers from hormonal acne, I have learnt that one drop of tea tree oil mixed in a pinch of Aloe Vera works like a miracle on active acne and breakouts. Just apply this on your active pimples and leave it overnight. This will ensure that it dries up super fast and the best part is that the dark spots won’t be left behind. You will thank me later for this easy home remedy.’
Product recommendation: Curatio Suncote Gel (Rs 355)
4. Miss McBlush
‘One of my favourite skincare tricks is multi-masking. I love to use The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask on my cheek area for my acne and bumps. It smoothes out my face and leaves it feeling super clean, cool and fresh. For my nose, chin and forehead, I like to use the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. This mask is the best mask for blackheads and it also makes the skin smooth and glowy. Multi-masking is super convenient and is basically the best way to treat different skin problems at once!’
Product recommendation: Innisfree Tea Tree Balancing Cream (Rs 1,900)
5. Maia Sethna
‘I think it is important for every girl to find out what products work best for her skin. After a lot of time and patience, I have found what works best for mine. I think keeping your skin clean, properly moisturized and using a good sunscreen is the best way to protect your skin and make it glow! Apart from that, maintaining a healthy lifestyle with lots of fresh fruit, veg protein (avocado, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, berries), water and a little bit of exercise works wonders for your skin! Don’t forget to sleep in, because lack of sleep can lead to stress, which leads to breakouts and a dull complexion! One common mistake everyone makes is forgetting to wash your make-up brushes and sponges! A lot of bacteria tends to collect on your make-up brushes so make sure you deep clean them once every few weeks to avoid breakouts.’
Product recommendation: Bioderma Sensibio H2O (Rs 660); Clinique Pep-Start 2-In-1 Exfoliating Cleanser (Rs 1,600)

‘You should make it a point to sweat it out a few times a week. Exercise is great because of the endorphins and the improved blood flow. Inversions in my yoga class give me that rosy glow. I know we are tired of hearing this one but there’s nothing worse than falling asleep with your make-up on. My skin heals a lot faster and treats me better when I am regular with my night-time routine. Since my skin is very sensitive, I use either coconut oil or micellar water to get rid of make-up and grime. I wasn’t very prudent about this earlier but I wash and sanitise my sponge and brushes regularly to prevent breakouts and infections. I try and eat foods rich in probiotics because I know a healthy gut goes a long way at promoting healthy, luminous skin. I also try and avoid soy and dairy products if I am breaking out and naturally, processed foods and sugary desserts that are known to aggravate inflammation are also not recommended.’
Product recommendation: All products from Just B Aunaturel and Ayca.
7. Aleena Mackar
‘For all of you with oily skin, I have one of the best and simplest tricks for you and that is, keep your skin CLEAN. By that, I mean wash it at least thrice a day and you shall see the difference. Do not us harsh face washes to strip off the oil, rather use a mild face wash but just more often.’
Product recommendation: Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 (Rs 1,850)
8. Anshita Junejaa
‘I love using aloe vera gel as a moisturiser during the day, post my waxing sessions, to sooth any sunburns and as a base for a lot of my face masks. If you can’t get the plant at home then at least try and get an organic one but stay away from those artificially green coloured aloe vera gels in the market. I use Rustic Art. Another tip I have is to add a few drops of tea tree oil in your face creams/face packs, it keeps the acne in control.’
Product recommendation: The Face Shop Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Gel (Rs 390)
9. Mehak Sagar
‘I’m a big skincare enthusiast so I’m all about the ingredients. Getting a solid Vitamin C serum is the best way to get that elusive lit-from-within glow, and any product with hyaluronic acid is great to further moisturise for skin that radiates!’
Product recommendation: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (Rs 6,500)
10. Pallavi Ruhail
‘I swear by facial oils despite having oily skin. Facial oils keep your skin healthy, glowing, hydrated and even delay the process of skin ageing/wrinkling. I use some under my make-up as well. I have a lot of facial oils, each for different purposes like breakouts, or tired skin and even pigmentation.’
Product recommendation: Kiehl’s Facial Oils Regimen (Rs 5,395)
11. Neha Desai
‘One skincare tip I swear by is to clean my skin thoroughly before going to bed and then following up with a heavy-duty moisturiser to nourish and moisturize my dry skin. Keeping the skin clean of all the dirt, grime and make-up from the day helps prevent acne and keeps the skin clear.’
Product recommendation: Ponds Moisturising Cold Cream (Rs 139)
