We all know that planning your wedding is a mammoth task – one that comes with its own share of stress. We’ve devised a list of ways in which you can keep calm and be a chilled out bride, all the while working towards the perfect D-Day of course!
1. Appoint a wedding committee.
This doesn’t have to be a fancy team of professionals but trustworthy family members or friends who will help you shape up your dream wedding keeping your tastes in mind. Delegating tasks is the first and most important key to keeping your sanity.
2. Make your preferences known from the start.
A lot of brides make the colossal mistake of not giving their opinions at the start of the wedding planning process. This can cause a lot of confusion later, so it’s better to state your preferences right at the start.
3. Don’t give up on living your own life.
We know it’s a big event but if you only eat-sleep-breathe all things wedding planning, you are bound to burn out. Make sure you still do things that you’d normally do in your day!
4. Surround yourself with positive energy.
Whether we like to acknowledge it or not, we get bogged down by negative people all the time. You absolutely don’t need this a few weeks or months before the wedding. So just make sure you don’t interact with the naysayers and surround yourself with the people who (genuinely) make you happy.
5. Be super organized.
Trust us when we say that it’s a myth that the bride-to-be has to just kick back her heels and enjoy the ride. Truth is there’s enough and more work that’ll crop up for you too. So just be really organized and tackle it all like a total #GirlBoss!
6. Hit the spa with your girls.
As your wedding day approaches, it’s only natural that you feel less relaxed. What you need at this point is a good back rub or head massage! Why don’t you turn this into an opportunity to kick back and hang with your girls? It could be just the thing you need, after all.
7. Go on dinner dates with the fiancé!
Even though there’s a bazillion things happening right now, you need to make time for some romance. Besides, nothing quite compares with venting to the fiancé over some delectable grub. It’ll help you two feel more connected and you’ll also remember why you’re putting in so much into this wedding. (It’s because you love him so!) 😀
8. Get enough shut eye.
It’s tempting to work like a clockwork mouse but make sure you get rest and enough sleep. Your body needs it. Your mind needs it more.
9. Have a sense of humour.
While planning a wedding, things will be chaotic. Some things may even not go your way. The only way to keep your sanity is to maintain that sense of humour. After all, one day you’re going to laugh at it all anyway. Might as well start now, right?!
