People Want To Boycott Adipurush Because Of This Reason

If we were to count the number of times people have demanded to ban a Bollywood movie in the past couple of years, it will easily take hours. The same has been happening with Prabhas and Kriti starrer Adipurush. Ever since the makers released its teaser, the film has received flak from the audience. The film has been called out for its poor VFX. Many have also been questioning the casting. Well, Adipurush has finally been released and guess what? #BoycottAdipurush is trending on Twitter!

The viewers have taken offence ‘coz of some factual inconsistencies in the movie. According to Ramayana, Sita was born in South Nepal. However, the filmmakers seem to have messed up this fact in the movie and are now facing the wrath of the audience.

Taking to the social media platform, a user wrote, “If You Are Planning For Adipurush, Rethink Again.. If you Already Booked a Ticket , Cancel it ! #Adipurush is The Worst Movie in terms of Actor Selection, VFX, Acting, Dialogue Delivery as Well it Provide Baseless Thinks Which was Not Mentioned in Ramayana.” Another wrote, “Let us boycott the film “ #Adipurush” from Nepal. The director has made it without studying the history of Ramayana. ‘Sita Mata’ was born in Nepal, not in India. #BoycottAdipurush.” Here, take a look at the tweets:

I am yet to watch the movie but if the filmmakers have actually overlooked factual errors in Adipurush then I can see it snowballing into a major controversy. Admittedly, when making films on religious texts, you need to tread very very carefully or the whole project can fall on its face. Here’s hoping the Adipurush makers have a good explanation for everyone!
