The Viral Passport Makeup Hack That Will Ensure You Look Fabulous On Your ID: A Download On Getting It Right

There isn’t a shortage of makeup trends swarming our social media feeds, and while there are so many to indulge in, the passport makeup trend stands out. Because admit it: we all, at some point, have had high hopes that our ID photographs clicked in a studio will look decent, only to find it ends up looking slightly off. And so we usually settle for it and have it printed on our ID proofs because you accept the fact that the camera doesn’t lie. But truth be told, taking a profile click for things like passports does make your features look flat. It’s just a 2D image after all. So while you may have thought that your makeup looked fine in the mirror as you moved to check out your angles, it translates differently when frozen on paper. Luckily, beauty creators on the internet have found a solution. The viral passport makeup trend shows us how to add dimension to our visage and accentuate our features without compromise. Here’s why this trend is blowing up.

What Is Passport Makeup?

Whoever takes the passport makeup challenge has their own spin on the trend, but the idea is pretty basic. Passport makeup is supposed to help make your face look more symmetric, sculpted, glowy, and sharp. This means contouring takes centre stage, while brushed up brows, and eyeliner work their magic to add definition. It is a spin on the clean-girl makeup aesthetic, except this focuses more on sculpting and enhancing your features.

How To Nail The Viral Passport Makeup Look?

This video tutorial has got a breakdown of the entire makeup look that literally looks gorgeous on everyone.

Step 1: Base Boss

Dewy skin will help catch those studio lights right and help add dimension. Follow a CTM routine and then prep your skin with a dewy makeup primer. Next blend a hydrating foundation on your face and neck. Take a matte concealer and apply it to your under eyes, below your cheekbones, around your lip and nose contours, and at your temples. Blend well and set with a makeup setting spray.

Step 2: Soap Sesh

To get your brows to look fuller, natural, and more symmetrical, opt for the soap brows trend. Brush your brows upwards and then swipe on the product. Brush once again and then flatten your brows with the other end of the brush so that they look laminated.

Step 3: Raise The Bar

Opt for a lifted contour effect. Draw with a contour stick cutting through your cheekbones in a slanted angle, and apply the contour on your hairline and jawline as well. Blend upwards and outwards for a seamless finish. Use contour product on your crease lines as well and blend as this will sculpt your eyes. Apply highlighter to the highest points of your face. Wear blush on your cheekbones as this will also sculpt your visage beautifully.

Step 4: Foxy Cues

Opt for the fox eyeliner trend as this will elongate your eyes and look really good on paper. Draw sharp long wings on the outer corners and leave the rest of your lash line bare. Apply liner to the inner corners sharply and then stick on those falsies. Finish your eye makeup with a coat of mascara.

Step 5: Over The Line

Outline your lips with a nude lip pencil as this will add volume and make your lips appear fuller. Draw only over your Cupid’s bow and below the centre of your lower lip. Swipe on your shade of neutral lipstick. Top it off with gloss.

Give this makeup a go and you will see that the results are just fabulous. Go ahead and use this exact makeup look for your next ID photo.
