Over a week after contracting COVID-19, television actor Parth Samthaan tested negative for the novel coronavirus on July 23. The actor, who plays Anurag Basu in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, has been recuperating and was under home quarantine since then. But, a few people have reached out to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Twitter and accused Parth of flouting the quarantine rules.
A Twitter user, Shilpa, tweeted that Parth has been stepping out of his house and using public facilities at DB Woods (the complex where the actor resides) in Goregaon. She wrote, “TV actor @LaghateParth Samthaan has been flouting BMC quarantine rules, stepping out of BMC seal of his flat, using public facilities in DB woods, Goregaon putting residents at risk. His house help who stays with him, is still positive. Need action by BMC @mybmc @mumbaipolice”.
Another user, Vineet Agrawal, called the actor irresponsible for causing a threat to the other residents.
Responding to the allegations, Parth, who was on his way to Pune to spend time with his family, said that he had a panic attack. He wrote, “Dear @Suhaasi, yes I have tested negative and I was home quarantined for 17 days which technically is more than 14, and last night I had a panic attack so were you willing to take me to the doc? And now I’m on my (way) to Pune to spend some much needed time with my family”.

After his response, Shilpa further tweeted, “That is why there are BMC rules, and Management Committee. Society has a quarantine center with 24 hr helpline from doctors where he could have contacted. If everybody started giving these kinds of excuses like Parth there would be no control”.
While a few Twitter users made accusations against him, there were several who came out in his support, wishing him good health and asking him to ignore the trolls.

For the uninitiated, the KZK actor tested positive for coronavirus on July 12 and took to social media to inform the same. The shooting of his show was temporarily suspended, however, it has now resumed without Parth. Later, the TV actor shared his health update on Instagram to let his well-wishers know that he is recovering well.
There have been several reports of patients and healthcare workers being mistreated by the people living around them. Owing to the spread of the outbreak, we agree that one should follow all the safety norms and guidelines issued by the government, but is harassing a recovered patient right? These are times we all need to stand together to fight the pandemic, not the patient.
