Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat (changed from Padmavati) has been cloaked in controversies and has received backlash for all the wrong reasons, even during its initial stage of production, and consequently also become the most awaited movie of the year by several people.
The time has finally come for the audience to rejoice, as Padmavat has been given an official release date of 25th January 2018, by the censor board, according to a spokesperson from Viacom18 Motion Pictures – co-producer of the movie.
“We’re looking to have an official announcement ideally later this week. The first thing was to put a release date out, we will now begin the marketing,” the spokesperson said, based on a report published by The Hindu.
The movie, however, will be clashing with the release date of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Padman’, which has also been scheduled to release on the same date as that of Padmavat. Neeraj Pandey-directed Aiyyary, which was scheduled for a release on the same day as well, has been reportedly pushed to 9 February.
