Coming Back For The Crown! 5 ‘90s Actresses Who Made A Solid Comeback On OTT

Don’t we all love getting into our PJs and watching a show while snuggling in bed? It’s the perfect date night! Thanks to streaming platforms, we can now watch a brand new show from the comfort of our homes. OTT platforms have also been a boon to writers and directors because they get more creative liberty and can portray their art without getting censored.

Besides being a great space for filmmakers, OTT platforms have also given many actresses a chance to make a comeback. Quite a few actresses from the ‘90s have made their OTT debut in the recent past and honestly, we have loved each one of their performances.

Madhuri Dixit

Being the biggest female star in the 1980s and 1990s, our Dhak Dhak girl was known for her impeccable acting and graceful dancing. After giving massive hits, Madhuri experienced some dullness in her career in the 2000s. However, she made a major comeback earlier this year in February with Netflix’s The Fame Game. While the film didn’t receive much critical acclaim, Madhuri fans were not disappointed. The actress gave one of the best performances ever.

Karisma Kapoor

Lolo is one of those stars from the ‘90s whom we would LOVE to see on the big screen again. Although she didn’t return to the big screen, she made her OTT debut with Ekta Kapoor’s Mentalhood on ZEE5 and ALTBalaji. She made a successful comeback as a harried mother of three who experimented with her own brand of modern parenting.

Kajol

In the ‘90s and early 2000s, Kajol could make any movie a hundred times better just by being in it. After the release of Dilwale, Kajol fans were eagerly waiting for her to return with a bang! She made her OTT debut with the Netflix film Tribhanga. She’s all set to be a part of a web series that is going to stream on Disney+ hotstar.

Juhi Chawla

The audience has not seen the supremely talented Juhi Chawla on screen for a very long time. However, the actress is all set to make a massive comeback with Amazon Prime’s web series Hush Hush. The drama series which is scheduled to release in August features an all women cast. The series depicts the struggles of women and how they are fighting in this male-dominated society. This show will portray Juhi Chawla in a never-seen-before avatar and we CANNOT wait!

Shilpa Shetty Kundra

While we haven’t really seen the actress in a show or a movie, she has been judging several reality shows. Now, Shilpa is all set to make her OTT debut with Rohit Shetty’s Prime Video series called, Indian Police Force. The series also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi. Well, a police series directed by Rohit Shetty? Do we need any more reasons to be excited?

Even though these actresses may have taken a long break, their fans continue to support them. While Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor have already impressed us with their OTT debut, we are now looking forward to seeing what the other actresses have in store for us.
