Nora Fatehi Receives Backlash For Copying Urvashi Rautela’s Outfit At The FIFA 2022 World Cup
The FIFA 2022 World Cup was extra special for India because we had two Bollywood divas representing us. While Deepika Padukone and former Spanish footballer Iker Casillas unveiled the trophy, Nora Fatehi performed at the closing ceremony. Although we were proud of both actresses for slaying it at the Qatar stadium, netizens were not pleased with their outfits. Not just Deepika, but even Nora was trolled for her OOTN. Scroll down to find out why!
Nora wore an embellished black dress from the shelves of a Dubai-based brand, Michael Cinco, for the closing ceremony performance. The dress was adorned with silver resham threads that complemented the sequin details, silver embellishments throughout, and tassels at the bottom of the dress. She accessorised her all-black ensemble with matching black stockings to show off her toned legs and kept the look simple with a pair of black studs and black YSL stilettos. While the outfit was stunning, Nora had no idea that it had been worn by Urvashi Rautela four years earlier.
The fashion world is becoming so competitive that celebrities no longer base their decisions solely on the appearance and fit of an outfit. They must also ensure that no one else has worn the same outfit before, or they risk attracting trolls’ attention. That’s exactly what happened to Nora. And of course, Urvashi made sure everyone knew she was the first to wear the dress by reposting an old photo on her Instagram story.
It appears that Urvashi did not want Nora’s thunder to last. Netizens flooded Nora’s comment section after the Sanam Re actress’ Instagram story gimmick, calling her a “copy cat.” One user commented, “This dress was already worn by @urvashirautela a few years ago. #copied” Another wrote, “Looking fab but @urvashirautela wore the same dress 4 years ago and now she has worn it.”
TBH, it was kinda petty of Urvashi to have reposted her old pictures right after Nora posted hers. She could have simply allowed the girl to have her moment. Also, can we stop fussing over actresses wearing similar outfits? The internet needs to calm down. What are your thoughts?
