Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij have been serving #couplegoals ever since they tied the knot in 2010. They became the telly world’s most adored jodi when the couple decided to embrace their house help’s children in 2017. And then in 2019, they embraced parenthood by welcoming their baby girl Tara. Needless to say, watching them together with their cute lil’ family always warms our hearts. Now recently, Jay surprised everyone by sharing an interesting anecdote from his wedding.
Jay is currently hosting India’s Best Dancer Season 3. In one of the episodes, the actor revealed that Mahhi is actually his first girlfriend. He also shared that no one showed up at his wedding. Jay said, “I met Mahhi when I went clubbing. And three months was enough for me to know that Mahhi is the girl I want to marry. She was my first girlfriend. I had a principle that I’d get into a relationship when I genuinely feel she is the girl I want to marry and spend the rest of my life with. Within three months, I decided that I would get into a relationship. On December 31st 2009, I proposed to her, and in 2010, we got married. I invited everyone, but no one arrived as everyone thought I was a casanova.”
He further added, “You tend to keep everything aside when the right person is standing in front of you. Mahhi has changed my life and after Tara, she is the reason for me to live. We often see heroes in movies sacrificing their lives for their loved ones and this is how I felt when I saw my daughter Tara for the first time. I could give up my life for her and I never wanted to show this emotional side to my wife.”
Well, it’s been 13 years since Jay and Mahhi got hitched and they are still going strong. And that says a lot!
