Let Nimrat Kaur Educate You About ‘Leheria’ Sarees ‘Coz You’ll Need At Least One!

When it comes to celeb style, you can be sure to see the trends set on the runway and stylists in general to make major appearances. But quite often we get to see them deep diving into traditional roots and highlighting Indian textiles and crafts. One of them was recently seen on the ever beautiful and classy Nimrat Kaur, a Punit Balana ‘Leheria’ saree in the sweetest of salmon hue:

The term ‘Leheria’ is used for a traditional style of tie-dye practiced in Rajasthan. The result is a brightly coloured fabric with unique patterns. The technique gets its name from the Rajasthani word for ‘wave’, wherein the cloth is rolled from one corner to another and then tied at regular intervals before being dyed. They result in complex wave-like patterns that are distinctive and very pleasing to the eye.
